Arun Karki
Arun started mountain biking around his home in Kathmandu as a hobby that quickly grew into a passion, a lifestyle, and then a full-time job.
Arun raced on a national level in Nepal, placing third in the nation for XC racing in 2014. Arun has been guiding international mountain biking trips in Nepal since 2013, and now has more than 50 trips under his belt.
Ben Ayers
Ben is a writer, National Geographic Explorer, documentary filmmaker and humanitarian who has lived and worked in Nepal for over 20 years. Ben began his career in Nepal by founding Porters’ Progress, a grassroots organization dedicated to improving working conditions for expedition workers. In 2007, Ben helped establish The dZi Foundation in Nepal, which pioneered a community-based model for poverty alleviation in Nepal’s most remote communities.
Ben’s documentary film work and writing have won multiple international awards. He is a regular correspondent for Outside and National Geographic, and his film resume includes The Last Honey Hunter (2017) and Mothered by Mountains (2018).
